If you are absent, please refer to the absentee binder & website for make-up work.
Class Rules:
Students will follow all codes of conduct set forth by the Broward County Public School District, Rickard's’ Middle School, the 7th grade team, and any policies in my class.
1. Be in your assigned seat ready to work when the bell finishes ringing. Running through the door when the bell is ringing is not acceptable!
2. Bring your materials (binder, loose-leaf paper, pencil, pens, planner, book(s)) and completed assignments to class each day.
3. Fill out your planner on a daily basis ( will sign each day If parent/guardian requests)
4. Keep your hands, feet, books, and objects to yourself.
5. No swearing, teasing, rude gestures, or put-downs. (NO Bullying)
6. Remain in your seat until dismissed by me (not the bell).
7. Follow my directions.
Students Expectations:
To ensure success in this course as a student you must:
1. Come to class each day ready to work and learn.
2. Bring necessary books and supplies each day.
3. Have assignments neatly and fully completed.
4. Study and go over notes and readings every night.
5. Follow the posted rules and procedures.
6. Have a positive attitude
7. Always try your best.
8. Seek extra help if there are any problems with the material covered; I am more than willing to assist you!
Notebook Checks:
Students are required to keep all notes and returned assignments in their notebooks. The End of the Year exam is a comprehensive measuring from what was taught this whole year. Once each quarter students will receive a Notebook Check grade as an assessment. There may be a surprise notebook check for an extra assessment to help keep you organized.
Book Work Policy:
In order to not rush through textbook questions, the following steps are required:
1. Step One: Put your heading at upper right corner of the paper. In the center of the paper, write the title of the assignment (for example: Page 29: Questions).
2. Step Two: Write the question
3. Step Three: Answer the question in a complete sentence or two. Tip, it sometimes helps to incorporate part of the question in your response.
4. Step Four: Support your response with evidence from the text. Expand upon your response by using your own thoughts and opinions.
Paper Heading:
For all class work and notes, put the following heading in the upper right corner of your paper:
Name (Last, then First)
Date
Class
On the top line, (in the middle) write the title of the assignment or notes.
Assignments will lose 5 points for missing heading and work will not be graded.
